Digicust or synetra PULSE: customs AI compared

Digicust and PULSE take different approaches. Digicust is a specialised AI platform for customs: declarations, tariff classification, export control, audit and master data. PULSE is an AI back office for freight forwarders: customs is one of three modules, alongside emails and order entry and supplier invoices with DATEV handover. If customs is all you need, a specialist is a good choice.

Two different approaches

Digicust describes itself in German as AI agents for every customs task: customs declarations, tariff classification, export control, audit and master data maintenance. The data then goes to the customer's customs software, where the declaration is made. PULSE handles a freight forwarder's back office in the Outlook mailbox. Customs is covered by the VECTIS module, jobs and emails by the CURA module, supplier invoices by the FINUS module.

When Digicust is the better fit

Customs only.
A customs agency or customs service provider that mainly handles declarations gets a platform at Digicust that is built entirely around customs.
Other customs software and ERP.
Digicust also lists integrations with customs software such as AEB and Format and with ERP systems such as SAP. PULSE hands over to CargoSoft, DAKOSY and dbh.
Several countries and procedures.
Digicust names customs clearance in more than 30 countries, the T1, T2 and TIR transit procedures and export control.

When PULSE is the better fit

Customs is only part of the back office.
Besides customs documents, a freight forwarder deals with booking emails, status requests, freight rate and booking requests and supplier invoices. PULSE handles them on the same platform.
Working in Outlook.
Replies sit as drafts in the Outlook you already use, without an add-in; your back-office staff review and send them.
CargoSoft, DAKOSY, dbh and data in Germany.
The customs declaration runs via CargoSoft, DAKOSY or dbh, and PULSE runs on its own infrastructure in Germany. More under GDPR-compliant AI for logistics.

How customs works at PULSE in practice

A worked example in AI customs clearance goes from the commercial invoice via the HS code suggestion with its rationale to the draft export declaration. Further providers for emails and order entry are listed in the provider comparison 2026.
