Why the TMS can stay
Your TMS holds your master data, tariffs, invoicing and years of set-up. The manual work happens before it: reading booking emails, typing in data, chasing missing details, answering status requests. That is where PULSE comes in. It works on the Outlook mailbox, reads every email and its attachments, creates jobs as cases and drafts the replies. The finished job data then goes into the TMS you already have.
Which TMS PULSE connects to
synetra lists CargoSoft, Scope by Riege Software and SLS Works as TMS integrations. Depending on the set-up, the job data goes straight into the TMS through an application programming interface (API) or as a one-click suggestion that your back-office staff accept. PULSE is not currently connected to Soloplan CarLo, WinSped or LIS.
If your TMS is not on the list, we discuss the connection with you. The work in the mailbox does not depend on the TMS: creating jobs as cases, drafting follow-up questions and confirmations and assigning follow-up emails all work either way.
Ready-made software instead of an automation project
You can also automate without changing your TMS by using general-purpose tools, such as workflow platforms like n8n or software robots like UiPath. That becomes a project of its own: someone builds the workflows, maintains them and adapts them whenever a customer changes their format. PULSE, by contrast, is a product for freight forwarders:
- A fixed rollout time.
- First results after four weeks, fully in production after 8 to 12 weeks. A rollout, not an IT project.
- Logistics knowledge built in.
- PULSE knows booking emails, status requests, freight rate and booking requests, supplier invoices and customs documents, so nobody has to describe each case one by one.
- Development and operation.
- Updates, operation and a named contact sit with synetra, not with your team. PULSE runs on its own infrastructure in Germany; see GDPR-compliant AI for logistics.
What PULSE takes over
- Order entry.
- Creating the job as a case, checking it for gaps, following up, assigning follow-up emails; see order entry from emails.
- Status requests.
- Replies with the current status from the TMS; see automated shipment status requests.
- Freight rates and bookings.
- Recognising requests, extracting the data, preparing the reply; see freight rate and booking requests.
- Supplier invoices.
- Reading, coding, checking and handing over to DATEV; see invoice processing with DATEV handover.
- Customs.
- HS code suggestions, EUR.1 and A.TR, customs declarations via CargoSoft, DAKOSY or dbh; see AI customs clearance.
Who checks before anything goes into the TMS
PULSE works in draft mode. Replies sit as drafts in Outlook, and your back-office staff review and send them. If a job is missing details, PULSE drafts the follow-up question instead of passing on an incomplete job. If an assignment is not clear, a person decides. The worked example under order entry from emails shows how this looks for a real-world job.
In use
PULSE is in use at logistics companies such as Parcelbroker, Baltic Logistik Service, Alpha Cargo Plus, Noah Maritim, Westar, CR Logistic Germany, 7WL and Cargomar.
