Where is the data, and who has access?
Shipment, customer and pricing data is business-critical and partly personal data. With any AI solution, it is therefore worth checking the provider's documentation: in which data centres the data is stored and processed, which sub-processors are involved and under which circumstances data leaves that area. Microsoft, for example, describes Microsoft Copilot as a service within the EU Data Boundary for customers in the EU; models provided by Anthropic as a sub-processor are currently excluded (source: Microsoft Learn, data, privacy and security, as at 8 October 2026). How PULSE differs from other solutions beyond this is shown in the provider comparison 2026.
What happens to your email data
All data stays in Germany, in data centres in Nuremberg and Falkenstein. PULSE runs open models on its own infrastructure, without US cloud providers. No email leaves the country, and there is no OpenAI or Microsoft interface in the critical path. The same applies to customs data in AI customs clearance and to invoice data for incoming invoices with DATEV export.
DPA, TOMs, impact assessment: prepared
GDPR-compliant means more than ticking a box: processing in the EU, a data processing agreement (DPA), technical and organisational measures (TOMs), purpose limitation and a data deletion policy. With PULSE this is prepared. Compliance is solved structurally, not just contractually.
Built for mid-sized firms
PULSE is aimed at mid-sized freight forwarders in the German-speaking region (DACH: Germany, Austria, Switzerland): German-language context, integration with Outlook and your transport management system (TMS), first results after four weeks and fully in production after 8 to 12 weeks. What this looks like in the mailbox is described in email automation for freight forwarders.
